City of Las Vegas Transforms Community Development and Regulatory Processes with Infor
Successful Infor Public Sector Go-Live Increases Transparency and Communication with the Las Vegas Development Community
NEW YORK, July 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that the City of Las Vegas, an Infor customer for 16 years, has successfully migrated their Permitting and Inspection functions to the latest version of Infor Public Sector Community Development and Regulatory (CDR). Infor CDR helps local governments transform complex CDR processes to meet financial and customer-service targets, and provides modern tools to improve permitting, code enforcement, business licensing, and related activities. Users are able to manage CDR requirements more intelligently with a solution that improves communication and collaboration across departments, with vendors, and with the public.
"Infor has been a longtime partner to the City of Las Vegas, and we've been using an older version of Infor Public Sector Suite for Planning, Permitting, Licensing, Code Enforcement and other ancillary community development and regulatory functions. After over 10 years we have now successfully reengineered our business processes while taking advantage of the latest features in the Infor Public Sector Suite to enable better online, mobile, IVR, and even Artificial Intelligence based engagement with our citizens," said Rick Virmani, Systems Manager, City of Las Vegas. "We trust Infor's systems to help us further streamline processes and improve overall collaboration and communications internally and with the citizens, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction with more effective delivery of CDR services."
The City of Las Vegas expects that expanding online permitting will result in higher satisfaction levels due to fewer trips to government offices to apply and pay for permits. The organization is further extending online permits to fully integrate with its existing document management system, resulting in efficiencies in back office workflow processes by having all document reviews routed and approved electronically. The City of Las Vegas also expects to streamline the collection of revenue by allowing citizens to add services and fees from across multiple City departments into a single "shopping-cart" and check-out with a single payment, rather than each department invoicing separately.
"It is paramount that local governments have modern technology processes in place to effectively manage community development and regulatory processes as the economy fluctuates and teams prepare for activity dips or increases in permit applications and license requests throughout any given year," said Bill St. John, vice president, Infor. "Applications specifically designed by Infor for the Public Sector, such as Infor CDR, help organizations meet compliance and enforcement requirements, and streamline processes to better manage the complex CDR needs of today and in the future."
