City Of Las Vegas Launches New Online Store, The Vegas Store
First Of Its Kind For The City Of Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, June 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The city of Las Vegas has launched its online retail store featuring merchandise with the new city of Las Vegas logo. The site is developed in partnership with Eagle Promotions. The minority-owned, Las Vegas-based company provides custom promotional and retail merchandise for clients ranging from Fortune 100 Corporations to small and mid-sized businesses. The pilot project is structured as a revenue share with Eagle Promotions. Visit the new site at vegasstore.vegas.
"This launch showcases some key items, such as t-shirts, hats and mugs, sort of a sneak peek into what we are going to offer on the site when it is more robust," said Sean Ono, co-owner of Eagle Promotions. "You can place orders for some of our selections starting Tuesday, June 27 with more items coming online after the July 4th holiday. At that point, we will be fully operational and plan to add new exciting items continuously."
Branded items planned for the site range from traditional t-shirts, tourist favorites, on-trend items and mugs to custom toy fire trucks, toy street sweepers, flotation devices and soccer balls. City Council members expressed an interest in providing a retail outlet shortly after the city introduced its new logo in October 2016. Like other major cities such as New York and Boston, items with city branding are popular and are often purchased by the public.
The city will earn 20 percent of all sales, with the Eagle Design Group providing all the merchandise, filling the online orders and shipping the merchandise. Both the city and Eagle believe the opportunities to both brand the city and generate revenue at the same time are endless. The city's portion of the sales proceeds will come into the city's General Fund, and could be earmarked for specific use by the City Council in the future. If the pilot is successful, the city will look at providing merchandise at physical retail locations.
The new logo did not replace the existing official city seal that will continue to be used on official documents and in other official capacities.
