City Holding Company Honors Its Service-Minded Employees Through City Cares Awards Program
Company to donate $11,500 to charities in recognition of employees' service
CHARLESTON, W.Va., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- City Holding Company, a (Nasdaq: CHCO), a $2.6 billion bank holding company headquartered in Charleston, presented the 2010 City Cares awards to nine deserving employees at its annual meeting held on April 28, 2010. The bank will make a $1,000 donation to the charity of each winner's choice.

In addition, the bank presented a top award to the bank's City Cares Volunteer of the Year, M. Rebecca Linton. In Linton's honor, City Holding will make an additional $2,500 donation, bringing the total of 2010 City Cares donations to $11,500.

Regional City Care award winners and their designated charities are:
- Commercial banking executive, Charlie Houck; Allegheny West region; Brian's Safehouse, a drug rehabilitation center in Beckley.
- Branch manager Craig Young; greater Putnam region; Charleston Area Medical Center Foundation in support of the Bill Young Memorial Endowment Fund.
- Commercial banking associate Eleanor Chin of the bank's Charleston Operations Center; West Virginia Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation to fight breast cancer.
- Personal banker Erin Minnick; Central region; Marion County Humane Society.
- Branch manager Grace Allred; Capitol region; Alban Arts & Conference Center, which provides opportunities for education, business conferences, entertainment venues, and cultural enrichment events.
- Branch manager Linda Hensley; Tri-State region; Mountain State Christian School, which serves children from preschool to grade 12.
- Regional retail manager Melissa Scarberry; Ohio Valley region; Mason County Community Foundation Arts and Education Fund.
- Personal banker Stephanie Fitchpatrick; Kentucky region; Mayo Plaza branch annual backpack drive, which provides school supplies to needy children.
- Regional retail banking executive M. Rebecca Linton; Eastern Panhandle region, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Linton directed the additional $2,500 donated in her honor as the recipient of the bank-wide "volunteer of the year" award to the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle's Christmas Cash for Kids program, which last year served more than 700 children in need.

All employees were invited to nominate their peers for a regional City Cares award. A committee selected one winner for each region, as well as a winner representing the Operations Center in Charleston. In honor of each recipient, City will donate $1,000 to a not-for-profit organization of the individual's choosing. Plus, the committee selected an overall Volunteer of the Year and will donate an additional $2,500 to that winner's favorite charity.
