WASHINGTON, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The City Club of Washington, a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs, is holding an April 27 grand re-opening party to unveil more than $1 million in renovations that include a fresh, contemporary new look and expanded dining and social features, coupled with new programming, membership benefits, and services. With a goal of Building Relationships and Enriching Lives®, the club's reinvention offers members more opportunities to connect, play, work, host, celebrate and enjoy new dining features.
Improvements include:
- NEW welcoming foyer and member services
- NEW expanded anytime lounge and media room
- NEW elevated dining room with fountain-side dining
- NEW touchdown rooms for a private phone call or quick meeting
- NEW enhanced wi-fi and cell phone reception
- NEW modern interiors throughout the club
The addition of the big-screen multimedia room will allow the club to offer a variety of entertaining social events, such as watch parties for sporting events, movies, and concerts, throughout the week. The reinvention also provides personal and professional growth opportunities through ClubCorp's national strategic alliances, including access to select online content from the Harvard Business Review, the Mental Training Institute, Core Performance, and W2Wlink.com, a women's business network.
"The City Club of Washington has been at the heart of the business and theater district for 25 years," said James Douthat, general manager. "These renovations and the new membership benefits and programs – which are designed to match members' changing lifestyles and interests – will allow us to continue that tradition while revitalizing and reinventing the club as an even more integral part of the city."
"The members are thrilled about the much-anticipated renovations at the club. The improvements, along with the more modern setting, are going to provide members with more opportunities to enjoy the club as well as showcase it to clients, coworkers, families, and friends," said John Robertson, who chairs the club's Young Executive Initiative.
The grand re-opening event will take place from 6 p.m.–10 p.m. EDT and is exclusive to club members (reservation required). Members of the media are invited to attend. If you are interested, please contact Karen Saverino at (202) 239-5953.
