Cities Encourage Obama to Sign the Farm Bill

WASHINGTON, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Following the passage of the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013 ("Farm Bill") (H.R. 2642) earlier today, National League of Cities (NLC) President Chris Coleman, mayor, Saint Paul, Minn. released this statement:

"We applaud the U.S. Senate for joining the House in passing the "Farm Bill" earlier today. We are glad Congress has recognized the critical need for economic development investments in cities and towns to ensure that every community will have the resources necessary for vital infrastructure projects, including clean water and safe wastewater systems, resources for managing growth and programs to help homegrown entrepreneurs and small businesses succeed.
