Latest Branch to Feature Citi 'Smart Banking' Technology Joins Other Flagship Locations in Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C.
State-of-the-Art Branch will Cater to San Francisco's Globally Diverse Client Base, with Branch Staff Fluency in 14 Languages
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Citibank today celebrated the opening of its latest flagship branch in the heart of San Francisco. The 6,400-square-foot branch, located at the corner of Post and Kearny Streets in the city's financial district, features Citi 'smart banking' technology in addition to the full range of Citi products and services. Citi U.S. Retail Banking President William Howle and West Regional President Jerome Byers were joined at a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at the branch by Mission Asset Fund CEO José Quiñonez and SFMade Founding Executive Director and Urban Manufacturing Alliance Co-Founder Kate Sofis.
"San Francisco is a vibrant, diverse and international city and one of our key markets," said Howle. "As we continue to advance our online and mobile offerings and examine an array of branch formats, our flagship locations give us an opportunity to combine our physical presence with our dynamic digital features to showcase all that Citibank has to offer. Our goal is to provide premium, personalized service to our diverse set of clients in the San Francisco area, and this new flagship is one of the ways we will do that."
Customers will be greeted with an interactive digital experience—the branch features touchscreen TVs and a Citibank online kiosk that will serve as in-branch access points to Citi's digital banking platform. The branch will be staffed with a full-time Financial Advisor and Mortgage Lending Consultant and it will offer all Citibank services, including Citigold®, Citi's premium personal-banking service; Citi Personal Wealth Management; and CitiBusiness, the bank's corporate management and checking product.
The branch will also cater to Citibank's globally diverse communities throughout San Francisco. In addition to English, branch staff are fluent in 13 languages: Arabic, Cantonese, Georgian, Ilonggo, Indonesian, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Teochew, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. Global clients will have access to Citibank videoconferencing capabilities. Of Citibank's clients in San Francisco, one in 10 lives abroad, maintains a residency abroad or travels often internationally.
Citi has a long history of partnering with both local government and some of the city's most innovative non-profit organizations to expand financial inclusion and promote economic development, especially in San Francisco's low-income communities. Starting in 2006 when Citi Community Development supported the launch of the Mission Asset Fund, an organization now recognized nationally for its groundbreaking new strategies for addressing financial exclusion. In 2010, Citi's commitment to San Francisco deepened significantly when Citi Community Development partnered with the City and County of San Francisco and other organizations to develop the award-winning Kindergarten to College initiative, the nation's first universal child savings account program. In 2011, Citi Community Development supported SFMade, an organization that provides San Francisco entrepreneurs and growing manufacturers with industry education, networking opportunities, hiring and capital resources, job training and other tools to help them thrive and create jobs.
"Mission Asset Fund relies on good corporate citizens to fulfill our mission, and Citi has supported us from the start," said Mission Asset Fund CEO José Quiñonez. "Citi has shown it is dedicated to San Francisco, its residents and its businesses, and the establishment of a new flagship branch is the latest example of that."
"SFMade is proud to join with Citi to open its new flagship location," said SFMade Founding Executive Director and Urban Manufacturing Alliance Co-Founder Kate Sofis. "Through its national support of our 54-city Urban Manufacturing Alliance, and locally our Craft Capital and Manufacturing Accelerator initiatives, Citi has helped catalyze a resurgence in urban manufacturing, in San Francisco and cities across the country."
The new San Francisco flagship, transformed from an existing branch, joins other flagship locations in Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. Citibank has more than 100 branches throughout the San Francisco bay area.
