NEW YORK, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- As worldwide enthusiasm for soccer soars, Citibank announces a new promotion to give away $100 worth of soccer-themed merchandise for new customers who open an eligible checking account between now and August 14, 2010.
"Citibank shares our customers' excitement for the game of soccer," said Brad Dinsmore, Head of Retail Banking, North America Consumer Banking, Citi. "Our latest promotion connects fans' heightened passion for the sport with their everyday focus on getting ahead financially."
Customers will receive a $100 gift card redeemable at www.SOCCER.com after they sign up for a new, qualifying checking account and make a $3,000 deposit. The promotion, which started on July 1, 2010, is running through August 14, 2010.
On July 17, soccer fans of all ages in Los Angeles will have the opportunity to meet Mexican soccer legend Manuel Negrete when he makes a guest appearance at Roosevelt Park in East Los Angeles.
