CITI wins National Institutes of Health $20B multi-year CIO-SP3 GWAC
FALLS CHURCH, Va. and WASHINGTON, June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative Information Technology, Inc. (CITI), a growing mid-tier IT services and solutions company, announced that it has been awarded the coveted new Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). CIO-SP3, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC), is valued at $20 billion over a 10-year term.
CIO-SP3 is the follow-on GWAC to CIO-SP2, which had 48 prime contractors with a budget of $19.5 billion. Under CIO-SP2, agencies have spent less than $10 billion since 2000, according to FederalNewsRadio.com. NIH's new CIO-SP3 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contracts are aimed at supporting the IT efforts of a host of federal agencies—including many of CITI's current and previous customers such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Commerce (DOC), and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). However, CIO-SP3 will have a focus on health and biomedical-related IT services in support of federal agencies' health missions.
"We are extremely pleased to have been chosen in open competition for the CIO-SP3 award for NIH through NITAAC, its procurement arm. This award validates our mission and focus to deliver high end, cost-effective, and innovative solutions for our customers," said Sunil Kolhekar, CITI's President and CEO. "In this fast-growing and rapidly changing health information technology (HIT) market, our customers are looking for solutions that embrace creativity and innovation. As our health care system is changing and evolving so must our approaches to solving our HIT challenges. CITI is well positioned to address these very challenges with its ability to move quickly and mobilize development teams to deliver award winning solutions."
CITI, along with Zimmerman Associates Inc. (ZAI), ICON Beacon Sciences, and Cardiocore formed a consortium under a Contractor Team Arrangement (CTA) to actively seek and bid on CIO-SP3 task orders. With the now issued CIO-SP3 award, a proposal process that began in late 2010, the CITI-led consortium is one of 54 corporate teams that were awarded the new CIO-SP3 contract.
The CTA is further bolstered by a strong group of stellar sub-contractors that bring unique expertise, domain knowledge and skill sets to address the requirements of the CIO-SP3 award. They are:
