Citi Offers Customers Financial Recovery Solutions in Wake of Hurricane Sandy
NEW YORK, Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to severe weather across the eastern part of the United States, Citi is providing affected customers with financial recovery solutions, including access to cash and waived fees.
Proactive waivers will be applied to the following fees through at least November 5, 2012 to all Citi customers in impacted areas:
- Overdraft protection;
- Non-sufficient funds;
- Late payment for credit products;
- Wiring funds to affected Citi customers; and
- Early CD withdrawal for recovery use.
While Citi will make every effort to proactively waive fees, in the event customers do not see an immediate credit, it should appear on their next account statement.
Citi also has services available to assist Small Business, Commercial Bank, Mortgage and Branded Credit Card clients. Impacted clients are encouraged to contact customer service at 1-888-248-1616 for assistance and solutions according to their financial recovery needs.
"Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, every day. This has never been more true than now — when our clients and the communities we serve are recovering from Hurricane Sandy," said Cece Stewart, President, U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking for Citi. "We encourage clients with questions or concerns to contact customer service, so that we are there and deliver for them when it really matters."
Citibank also made clear it will refund fees for customers who need to use ATMs outside its network. Stewart continued, "We realize it's important during this time to have easy access to cash. If you need to use a non-Citibank ATM, please just give us a call, and we will refund any ATM fees."
Customers in affected areas, who need to conduct business, can use Citibank Online, Citibank for iPad®, Citibank (Kindle Fire Edition), and Citi Mobile(SM) to pay their bills, make deposits or conduct transfers. They can also reach customer service at 1-888-248-1616 or on Twitter through @AskCiti.
