Citi Cards Improves Shopping And Travel Benefits For Cardmembers
Citi cardmembers can shop and travel with more confidence with Trip Cancellation & Interruption Protection, Worldwide Car Rental Insurance, Citi Price Rewind, Trip Delay and Lost Baggage Protection and more
NEW YORK, Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- From car rental insurance for any car in any country to searching twice as long to find a lower price with Citi® Price Rewind, Citi Cards protection benefits for cardmembers just got much better. They now feature greater coverage and fewer restrictions – making them easier to understand and simpler to use so Citi cardmembers can travel and shop with more confidence than ever before every day of the year.
The next time Citi cardmembers shop, they can:
- Let Citi Price Rewind do the work to search for a lower price. Citi will search for a lower price after cardmembers buy and register an eligible item with an eligible Citi credit card. If the same item is found at retailers' sites within 60 days, Citi cardmembers can be refunded the price difference up to $300 per item, and up to $1,200 per year. In 2013, Citi cardmembers enjoyed an average refund of $85.
- Know they are covered with 120 days of Damage and Theft Protection. If cardmembers buy a covered item with their Citi card and it is damaged or stolen within 120 days of purchase (or 90 days for NY residents), cardmembers are covered up to $1,000 per item, and Citi Prestige® and Citi®/AAdvantage® Executive cardmembers enjoy coverage up to $10,000 per item.
- Get up to an extra year of warranty coverage. Warranties run out and it seems like that's when something breaks. Citi cardmembers can get up to an additional year of coverage on their warranty of five years or less (or double their warranty if it's less than a year) when they make purchases with their Citi card up to $10,000 per year. Citi Prestige and Citi/AAdvantage Executive cardmembers enjoy coverage up to $50,000 per year.

And when Citi cardmembers find themselves at the car rental counter or encounter an unexpected change in their travel plans, they can:
- Get covered against theft or damage on any rental car, in any country. No matter what car they rent, anywhere in the world, Citi cardmembers are now covered against theft or damage up to $50,000 when they pay with an eligible Citi card and decline the rental company's collision loss and damage insurance. Citi cardmembers with travel rewards cards that come with an annual fee like ThankYou® Premier or Citi Prestige enjoy coverage up to $100,000.
- Let Trip Cancellation & Interruption protection cover the unexpected. Travel plans can go awry for many reasons. Now Citi cardmembers will be covered for more of them. If certain unforeseen events get in the way of their trip like severe weather or illness, they may be reimbursed for non-refundable trip expenses, like airfare, hotels, cruises, and more, up to $1,500 per year. Some cardmembers will enjoy Trip Cancellation & Interruption Protection up to $5,000 per year or $5,000 per person, per trip.

Citi offers additional travel benefits for cardmembers using one of the company's travel credit cards, including Citi®/AAdvantage® Platinum Select®, Expedia+ Voyager Card from Citi, ThankYou Premier, Citi Prestige and Citi/AAdvantage Executive. Cardmembers can:
- Get a little help to make travel delays easier to take. From meals and hotel rooms to ground transportation and toiletries, Citi cardmembers can get a refund for many unplanned expenses when they're delayed for 12 hours or more, up to $500 per trip. Citi Prestige® and Citi/AAdvantage Executive cardmembers can enjoy a refund for delays of 3 hours or more, up to $500 per trip.
- Worry less about lost or damaged baggage. The last thing travelers want to worry about is losing baggage and now Citi cardmembers don't have to. Cardmembers are covered up to $3,000 per person, per trip ($2,000 per person, per bag, per trip for New York residents) if their baggage including personal items like cameras, jewelry and sporting equipment are lost, stolen or damaged by the common carrier on a trip paid for with their Citi card.
- Pick up some essentials if their baggage is delayed. Baggage delay protection is with Citi cardmembers even if their bags aren't. If cardmembers' bags are delayed for 6 hours or more, they can be reimbursed for items they may need until their bag arrives like clothes, shoes and toiletries, up to $100 per trip. Citi Prestige and Citi/AAdvantage Executive cardmembers enjoy baggage delay protection for delays of 3 hours or more, up to $500 per trip.
- Get the help they need if they are injured or ill. Citi cardmembers won't get stranded when travelling and the right emergency care isn't available locally. If cardmembers have a serious medical emergency, medical evacuation protection can cover the costs of getting them home or to the right medical facility, up to $100,000 with their Citi Prestige or Citi/AAdvantage Executive card.
- Book your tickets with peace of mind. Because plans don't always go your way, if Citi cardmembers have to miss a show, game or event due to bad weather, venue cancellation, accident delays or even lost tickets, they may be refunded the cost of the tickets, up to $500 per ticket and up to $5,000 per year if purchased with their Citi Prestige or Citi/AAdvantage Executive card.
