As part of its fall Fueling Good program, CITGO is awarding cfsKnowledgeCenter with $5,000 in CITGO Gift Cards to help extend its Ripple of Good and the impact of its work improving the lives and wellbeing of individuals who have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, severe fatigue and related illnesses.
"We're extremely grateful for this generous reward from CITGO. The CITGO fuel will go a long way in helping with our mission to provide patients with practical information and an online community as well as to support research of this poorly understood and often misdiagnosed disease," said Daniel Moricoli, founder and president of cfsKnowledgeCenter. "With the generous reward of CITGO Gift Cards, we will be relieved of virtually an entire year's cost of gas and will be able to spend that portion of our budget on expanding our ground breaking video series, which features medical and other experts helping patients better understand and cope with their illness."
cfsKnowledgeCenter provides practical educational materials for individuals who have ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, severe fatigue and related illnesses. Resources include basic information and expert opinions from leading authorities, as well as links to support groups that provide individuals with more localized information and assistance. The Knowledge Center serves as an online forum where personal experiences and insights can be shared by those who truly understand what it means to suffer from these afflictions.
cfsKnowledgeCenter is one of 12 CITGO fall Fueling Good winners determined from more than 1,500 charities through a nationwide online vote, with more than 100,000 votes cast to help determine the latest winners.
The winter 2011 Fueling Good program registration closed on Jan. 11 for all 501(c) (3) non-profit organizations within the CITGO marketing area. Online public voting runs from Jan. 12 to Feb. 9 to determine the next 12 winning charities, who will each receive $5,000 in CITGO Gift Cards to spread their own Ripple of Good.
