"My students and I are very appreciative for the incredibly generous donation we received from CITGO," said Sylvia McLenighan, fifth grade art teacher at Hadley Middle School. "Through the Fueling Education grant program, CITGO was able to provide my classroom with a great amount of art supplies including an Econo Etch Model Press, Soft-Kut Printing Blocks, Speedball Linoleum Cutters and educational art DVDs. These tools and resources will help to enrich the learning experience for all of the students at Hadley Middle School. We are extremely grateful for the support of CITGO and their employees for making such a positive difference in our school and community."
The CITGO Fueling Education Promotion in partnership with ClassWish offers teachers, student teachers and PTA/PTO members a chance to win $1,000 in school supplies for their classroom that might otherwise be funded out of their own pockets. From April 16 through July 7, 2013 educators were required to register and build their supply wish lists at ClassWish.org. Three $1,000 winners were randomly selected from each of the 27 states in which CITGO operates, as well as the District of Columbia, for a total of 83 winners across the CITGO footprint. An additional 25 teachers that submitted entries through Instagram received the $1,000 in supplies and a $100 CITGO Gift Card through a random drawing. This year, CITGO provided more than $100,000 worth of school supplies to more than 100 schools during the first annual Fueling Education Promotion.
