Cision to Work With Sarah Evans to Promote Better Connections Between PR and Media Communities
CHICAGO, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today announced an agreement to work with Sarah Evans, one of America's most prominent new media consultants, to promote emerging trends and best practices that connect the public relations, journalism and blogging communities.
As part of the agreement, Cision will provide transcripts of every session of #journchat, the live weekly Twitter chat for PR professionals, journalists and bloggers, founded and moderated by Evans. It will work with her to produce white papers, webinars, conference and seminar discussions, and other thought leadership initiatives that explore the impact of online communications and new media.
"Cision's ultimate goal is to help the PR and media communities connect and do their jobs better and faster. We are thrilled to support #journchat and help Sarah build new bridges between them," said Heidi Sullivan, Cision's vice president, media research, North America. "The social media movement and the changing media landscape demand that we reexamine and revolutionize how PR and media people communicate. Sarah Evans and Cision are on the forefront of bringing those communities together."
"Cision has played a valuable and fully transparent role on #journchat almost since our first chat in November 2008, sharing best practices in media relations and social media communications," Evans said. "This agreement will continue this open and frank exchange of ideas and improve communication among PR and media people."
#journchat is an ongoing conversation between journalists, bloggers and PR people that happens on Twitter every Monday evening between 7 and 10 p.m. Central time (8-11 p.m. Eastern). Typically, more than 200 participants send questions to the moderator (@journchat) or respond to others' comments during each conversation. Since its debut, #journchat has garnered more than 6,400 followers.
#journchat members can stay connected and get exclusive updates by joining the #journchat Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=36404429298&ref=mf).
