DALLAS, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Church's Chicken®, one of the largest fried chicken restaurant chains in the world, recently acknowledged four of its top-performing employees for their year-long commitments to excellence and achievement at this year's annual Excellence in Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX. As part of a system-wide awards presentation given at the conference, Sandra Garcia, Krista Lujan, Lucero Martinez, and Margaret Perez each received honors as Top Market Leaders and General Managers for Church's in 2017.
The awards to Garcia, Lujan, Martinez, and Perez were presented by Executive Vice President & Global Chief Marketing Officer for Church's Chicken, Hector Munoz, and Executive Vice President of U.S. Operations, Peter Servold.
"With these awards, we wanted to honor the individuals that have made significant and sustaining contributions to our brand," said Servold. "These four women have consistently demonstrated a commitment to operations excellence throughout the year, and actively support the communities in which they work and live."
As each woman walked on stage to receive their award, a short video played honoring the dedication each puts into her daily job.
Market Leaders of the Year
Sandra Garcia
Company Market Leader of the Year, San Antonio, TX
"Fall in love with what you do, and you will never work another day in your life," is the motto by which Sandra Garcia lives. Throughout her 32 years of Quick Service Restaurant experience, Garcia has earned recognition for Manager of the Year, Training Manager of the Year, Circle of Excellence and Sales, and Profit Recognition. For the past five years, Garcia has served as Church's Market Leader in San Antonio, TX, overseeing eight restaurants. She has also served on the Executive Committee of the Church's Women's Forum since its founding in 2014 as a role model and coach for the San Antonio Mentor and Alumni Circles.
Krista Lujan
Franchise Market Leader of the Year, Phoenix, AZ
Krista Lujan began her career in the restaurant industry as a cashier in her hometown of Rialto, CA. where she quickly moved up the ranks and was eventually promoted to General Manager by age 20. Today, as a Franchise Market Leader, Lujan focuses on maintaining high standards and protecting the brand's reputation. She enjoys mentoring others and spends her spare time volunteering for her local Boys & Girls Club.

Margaret Perez
Company Restaurant General Manager of the Year
Margaret Perez has been a part of the Church's brand for 34 years and has trained many individuals during her career as a Training Restaurant General Manager, including 2017 Company Market Leader of the Year, Sandra Garcia. In addition to being this year's Company Restaurant General Manager of the Year, Perez was recognized as the Training Restaurant General Manager of the Year in 2015. When asked how she has created such a close and warm environment in the restaurant, her response was, "At Church's 97, there are no differences…there is only one team."
Lucero Martinez
Franchise Restaurant General Manager of the Year
Lucero Martinez began her career with Church's seven years ago and is currently a Training Restaurant General Manager for BAH in Los Angeles, CA. Martinez's drive for continuous company improvement has allowed her to expand her support beyond her own restaurant and into other Church's restaurants within the Los Angeles area. Martinez continues to provide mentoring to fellow restaurant managers on how to improve guest service, food safety and everyday restaurant operations.
