Chubb Crisis Assistance Feature to Help Companies Manage Adverse Media Attention
WARREN, N.J., June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A new insurance feature from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies will help businesses manage major liability crises that are expected to generate significant adverse national or regional media attention. Through an automatic endorsement, Chubb is adding up to $300,000 in insurance coverage to its Commercial Excess and Umbrella Insurance policy to help pay for a customer's crisis management services.
Chubb has identified independent crisis assistance service providers with extensive experience in crisis communications management, security and related fields to help its customers manage a crisis. The customers may hire these or other consultants, subject to Chubb approval. The Commercial Excess and Umbrella Insurance Crisis Assistance protection will help pay for the consultants' fees, as well as for temporary living, travel, psychological counseling, funeral and other approved crisis management expenses.
"When a major crisis occurs and the reputation of your company is on the line, any wrong step could have a crippling impact," said Mark Dugle, senior vice president and worldwide excess casualty practice leader for Chubb Commercial Insurance. "Companies should have the professional resources available to help them through the ordeal."
The member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 8,500 independent agents and brokers. Chubb's global network includes branches and affiliates throughout North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
