PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chubb today announced the appointment of Andrew Hurley as Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice Leader. In this role, Mr. Hurley will be responsible for the underwriting strategy, production, marketing, product development and management, and profit and loss (P&L) performance for the Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice, which serves U.S. and Canadian real estate owners and managers and hospitality-related companies.
Mr. Hurley will lead a broad team of dedicated and experienced underwriters, risk engineers and service specialists across multiple lines of business, including Property, Casualty, Environmental and Financial Lines to deliver insurance solutions to the real estate and hospitality industries. Mr. Hurley will be based in New York and will report to Chris Maleno, President, Chubb North America Major Accounts Division.
The following individuals will report to Mr. Hurley and have senior management responsibility within the North America Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice:
James Martuscelli will continue his role as the practice's Casualty Leader. He is responsible for managing Casualty underwriting and growth and profitability.
Josh Pillion will be Environmental Leader. He will be responsible for managing Environmental underwriting and growth and profitability.
James Proferes will be Financial Lines Leader. He will be responsible for managing Financial Lines underwriting and growth and profitability.
Ionel Rizea will continue as Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for driving business development and account management.
Michael Samuels will be Excess/Umbrella Leader. He will be responsible for managing Excess Casualty underwriting and growth and profitability.
Hemant Sarma will continue his role as Property Leader. He will be responsible for managing Property underwriting and growth and profitability.

The Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice, which is part of Chubb North America's Major Accounts Division, offers a broad suite of insurance coverages that include:

- Property: Shared and layered, ground up, and Builders' Risk

The practice can now provide expanded capacity by offering shared and layered and ground up property programs with limits up to $650 million and critical catastrophe limits up to $50 million. Limits are available up to $50 million for Excess Casualty and Environmental and up to $25 million for Financial Lines coverages.
All products may not be available in all states. Surplus lines products are available only through licensed surplus lines producers.

Mr. Hurley brings more than 25 years of underwriting, distribution management and customer segmentation experience in commercial insurance lines. He joined ACE in 2006, after spending 16 years at Chubb. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of the Corporate Risk Segment for ACE USA. Mr. Hurley previously served as Regional Executive Officer for the New York market, in addition to holding several underwriting and regional leadership positions at ACE, including Branch Manager of the company's Northern New Jersey office and Corporate Risk Segment Leader for its New York office. Mr. Hurley began his career at Chubb & Son as an International Underwriting Trainee. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College.
