Christopher N. Davies Appointed Vice Chair of The Florida Bar's Inaugural Condo Certification Committee

NAPLES, Fla., July 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cohen & Grigsby director Christopher N. Davies has been appointed to serve as vice chair of The Florida Bar's inaugural committee for Condominium and Planned Development Law Certification for a three-year term. The Bar's newest board certification area was approved by the Florida Supreme Court in March.  

As vice chair of the committee, Mr. Davies will be tasked with reviewing credentials of the first class of applicants, developing policy to implement the standards approved by the Supreme Court of Florida, and drafting and administering the first examination. In establishing the new board certification, the public will also have a means to identify attorneys that are proficient in this area of law.

Mr. Davies leads the condominium and homeowner association law team at Cohen & Grigsby. For more than two decades, he has focused his practice on providing advice to condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations. His representation has included more than 200 boards in Southwest Florida with a focus in Collier and Lee Counties. In addition to this appointment, he is chair of the Legislative Subcommittee and also a member of the Real Property Section of The Florida Bar and the Collier County Bar Association.

Mr. Davies frequently lectures on critical issues involving condominium and homeowner association law. He received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and holds a joint honors degree in law and industrial relations from the University of Wales.
