Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to hold webinar on transitioning into the workplace after injury

This webinar will focus on successfully attaining employment while living with paralysis

SHORT HILLS, N.J., Feb. 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) announced it will be hosting a webinar on how to transition back into the workplace after sustaining a spinal cord injury. Funding for this community education project was made possible through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living (ACL).

Work not only provides income, health insurance, and other benefits but is also beneficial to an individual's overall well-being. The hour-long webinar on February 26 sponsored by the Reeve Foundation will address common concerns of transitioning back into the workforce such as where to find support, training, and vocational rehabilitation services to help obtain and keep a job while living with a spinal cord injury.

By the end of the session, users will feel confident in identifying the five steps of employment services available during a job search, choosing the employment network or service to fit their needs, mapping a strategy for the interview process, developing a list of tools for a job search, and setting goals for returning to the workforce.

Hosting the session is Mike Sanders. Sanders is the Director of Marketing and Communications for NTI, a non-profit focused on placing Americans with disabilities and disabled Veterans in call centers, customer service, and IT help desk jobs that can be done from home. Sanders' 20+ years of experience in advocacy and marketing strategy, along with his Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, have contributed to his success building NTI as a leader in placing Americans with Disabilities in the workplace.
