Christopher & Banks Keeps Walking, Shines On To Help Find A Cure for Multiple Sclerosis
Women's specialty retailer celebrates 16 years as Minnesota's MS Walk sponsor
MINNEAPOLIS, May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In its sixteenth year as the title sponsor of the Minnesota Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk, Christopher & Banks Corporation, with the support if its customers and employees, has raised more than $2 million to support the fight to wipe out MS. Earlier this month, the company's walkers, CBK Team Hope, celebrated another successful event by fielding a team of nearly 90 walkers and raising approximately $25,000.
In addition to raising awareness, these contributions have helped thousands of families living with MS by advancing critical research projects that help to develop better treatments, find a cure and provide financial resources for post-secondary education scholarships.
"Through our support of the MS Society in Minnesota and nationally, we hope to touch the lives of many families," said LuAnn Via, president and CEO, Christopher & Banks Corporation. "There are few greater moments for the Christopher & Banks Hope Walkers than hearing the inspiring stories of those fighting MS and knowing we are making a difference."
Support Shines On Through Exclusive MS Jewelry Collection Sales
Christopher & Banks is extending its support of the MS Society beyond the annual walk. The retailer has partnered with the MS Society since 2007 to create a special jewelry collection that drives awareness for the disease. Fifty percent of the profits from each sale go directly to the National MS Society.
The collection, priced starting at $12.95, includes earrings, necklaces and bracelets in classic designs featuring pearl and accents of orange in recognition of the MS color. All items can be purchased exclusively online at www.christopherandbanks.com or www.cjbanks.com.
"We think these special pieces are destined to become favorites in women's jewelry boxes," said Via. "And the prices make them perfect for gift-giving – or to keep for yourself."
This year's proceeds from the jewelry sales will help fund post-secondary education scholarships to support students who either have MS themselves or live with a parent who has the disease. In August, Christopher & Banks will be recognized at the annual On the Move Luncheon for its contribution, allowing the retailer to support two causes its customers and the company are passionate about – education and MS.
