Christmas at the Galt House Hotel Sparks Holiday Cheer!

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The third annual Christmas at the Galt House Hotel opens Saturday, November 17.  The holiday extravaganza is a new family holiday tradition bringing people from across the country to Louisville, Kentucky.  This year, there's a new Peppermint Express Kiddie Train Ride through the Candy Cane Forest.  Inside, children are greeted by Mr. Sugar Pine, the talking tree.  They'll also watch as nearly 100 new animated animals work to get ready for a holiday party in the forest.

Each year, the KaLightoscope Attraction is a favorite among guests.  In fact, it's so spectacular; it is featured on the Travel Channel's "Christmas Crazy" special, which airs some 150 times this fall!  KaLightoscope is the only one of its kind in the world.  These larger-than-life luminaries are more interactive this year and 40% of the attraction is new.

The Christmas Village also has many new additions, including four storefront windows featuring former characters from downtown department store windows that have been renovated and given new life.  These windows bring guests back to the days when families traveled downtown to see the holiday windows.  Nearly three-quarters of the Christmas Village is new and enhanced.  Children will enjoy meeting the Snow Fairy Princess and visiting her Castle, as well as meeting the Snow Fox and taking part in the children's activities.

One sure fire way to get in the holiday spirit is to enjoy the Colors of the Season Holiday Dinner Show.  It's the essence of the holidays all rolled together into one, enchanting experience.  This custom dinner show features a holiday story, live music, a festive dinner, classical Christmas Songs, and dancing!  Performances begin November 26 and run through December 15, 2012.

The holiday cheer spills onto the street with the new 40 Nights of Lights in downtown Louisville.  Galt House Hotel is a presenting sponsor of the event which will feature nightly light and music shows along Fourth Street from the Galt House Hotel to Fourth Street Live! entertainment district November 23 to New Year's Eve.
