Lyle is a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing, devoted to helping people overcome all forms of limitation through prayer. He has lectured and given workshops on Christian Science in 35 countries, in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. He's also been an avid contributor to the Church's magazines, and a contributor to Canadian newspapers in his role as a media representative on behalf of Christian Science in Canada. For five years he was also Secretary-Treasurer of the Ontario Multifaith Council on Spiritual and Religious Care.
"The opportunity to travel around the world and help people view themselves and God in new ways has been amazing," said Lyle. "I have learned so much from it and I look forward to serving the church in new ways in this role."
Lyle became a teacher of Christian Science in 1991, ten years after learning about Christian Science at Ball State University in Indiana. After graduation, he began studying Christian Science, and several years later became a practitioner of this healing system.
Lyle succeeded J. Thomas Black, who, after seven years on the Board, has resigned to return to Michigan to focus on practicing and teaching Christian Science healing.
