Chris Grumm to Step Down as President & CEO of Women's Funding Network
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Chris Grumm has informed the Board of Directors that she will resign from her position as President & CEO of Women's Funding Network effective June 30. After transitioning she will continue to work in the field with a particular focus on philanthropy and social change, and is looking forward to consulting, writing, and speaking.
Since joining Women's Funding Network as President & CEO in July 2000 Grumm has made enormous contributions to the organization, which connects women's funds in 26 countries. Women's funds seek out and invest in women-led organizations and programs that are building solutions to major challenges in communities, from ending poverty to fighting violence to supporting women in leadership.
Under her leadership Women's Funding Network has expanded from 75 member women's funds to 160 on six continents. Fundraising has also increased exponentially thanks to innovative partnerships like Women Moving Millions, which has raised nearly $200 million from visionary donors giving to women's funds.
"The past decade has brought incredible growth for Women's Funding Network and our network will continue to strengthen for years to come. Leadership transitions provide great opportunities to combine the achievements of past leaders with the new visions of emerging leaders and we are seeing this trend play out among many of our member women's funds," said Grumm.
Women's Funding Network's Board of Directors is naming a committee to conduct a global search for the next President & CEO.
