CHOP Creates EVP of Strategic Planning and Business Development
--Matthew Cook Is Promoted to New Role, Which Includes National Partnerships and International Medicine--
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) announces that Matthew Cook has been promoted to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development.
In this role, Mr. Cook will oversee all strategy development and execution for Children's Hospital, including strategic planning and business development for national partnerships and international medicine.

Dr. Altschuler added that among the innovations envisioned under the hospital's planning process are increasing scale and organizational flexibility, achieving geographical segmentation of business lines, and enhancing revenue diversification capabilities.
Prior to joining CHOP, Mr. Cook provided healthcare strategy, performance improvement, and management consulting services to academic medical centers, community teaching hospitals, and private sector healthcare concerns. Most recently, he was a Principal with the management consulting practice of the Chartis Group.
Mr. Cook holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, and a bachelor of science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
