Chinese Government Allows Patenting of US Company's Compliance Software for Financial Documents
NEW YORK, Oct. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Publishing Data Management has announced that the Chinese Government approved an additional patent for the software engine that drives the ProofPlus® electronic document system used for compliance-critical financial, pharmaceutical, and insurance filings.
PDM has existing patents in Israel, Russia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the United States and additional countries. This announcement underscores the company's continuing commitment to provide a global solution for its customers.
The design patents facilitate comprehensive automation not possible in any other solution. ProofPlus® puts the entire process under user control, eliminating outsourcing to third parties. The system integrates all aspects of creating, translating, localizing, revising, reviewing, typesetting, and approving compliance documents for each country's authorities. ProofPlus® also features project and content management, automation of typeset PDFs, Word and HTML documents, as well as completely automated and real time in-line XBRL and SEC EDGAR filings.
For international environments, documents are produced in multiple languages and localizations simultaneously, including non-Roman, and the multilingual User Interface is independent so you can navigate in your native language even while working on documents authored in different languages.
Additional new capabilities include change 'stickers' that can selectively amend previously filed and frozen document editions; support of the upcoming SEC modernization initiative including inline XBRL; and increasing automated document review and validity algorithms.
The system operates using a reusable 'single-source' XML library of all the thousands of granular content components used in large compliance-critical documents, each with permission controls and an audit trail of all changes, including confirmation that version changes in one language are synchronized in all other language versions. Every element, such as a paragraph, head, table cell, or chart, is stored in the library just once, and may be used in multiple documents, or even multiple times in one document. A revision to any common content component in one current document automatically ripples through and immediately updates all documents that use that component. Revising a component in one language automatically initiates a request for updated translations into one or more required alternate languages.
President Addison Roverano adds, "ProofPlus® earned this Chinese Government approval because of its inventive approach to solving companies' mission-critical needs and reducing risk. It's also an extension of the system's integration of project management, automatic composition, workflow tools, permission based tracking and auditing, and a formal approval process with accountability at every level."
ProofPlus® provides a valuable self-service Customer Communications tool that can drive both web and print output channels simultaneously through a secure private cloud architecture.
