"Chinese Character" - Zhuang Yujun Painting Exhibition and press conference for the "Zhuang Yujun, Chinese Ink Painting and American Impression" tour is about to kick off
Zhuang Yujun: Remember history, start a journey
NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Peace is an ideal forever pursued; justice is an element common of all human consciousness. The year of 2015 celebrates the 70th anniversary of the end of Second World War, as well as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Countries and ethnic groups commemorate this anniversary in unique ways. A common saying in Chinese and among the Chinese people embodies a common and sensible sentiment: "We commemorate one thing for the sake of engraving it on our memory; we bear it in mind as encouragement to move on."
"Chinese Character" – Zhuang Yujun Chinese Hero Ink Painting Exhibition, jointly organized by ICN TV network, Chinese American Voice Radio, Beauty Media Inc., and China Culture Media Group Limited, will open at One United Nations Plaza, New York City, on September 16th , at 3:00 PM. The "Chinese Spirit" series of paintings created by Mr. Zhuang has already caused a sensation at LA Art Show 2015. Mr. Zhuang had devoted himself to a batch of new artworks entitled "Chinese Character," illustrating the unique qualities and personality of traditional Chinese culture, with the conscience of an artist, making a contribution to world peace and the promotion of justice.
Zhuang Yujun is a famous calligrapher, painter, and one of the most acclaimed logo designers in China. He has also broken new ground in Chinese ink painting. Though a patriotic artist, he unconditionally accepts the good inherent in the world and in the culture of all nations rather than basing his work solely on Chinese culture. His painting style features a unique art language created by ink and calligraphy. This work style and concept is embodied the paintings entitled "Chinese Character," a set of works that portrays the vivid character and personality of Chinese personages with a mixture of Chinese freehand painting and western plastic arts.
A press conference for "Zhuang Yujun, Chinese Ink Painting and American Impression" – an artist's depiction of a road trip along the iconic Route 66, will be held concurrently with the opening of the painting exhibition. Spanning the width of the country from New York to Los Angeles, from early autumn (Sep. 16) to mid-autumn (Oct. 10), the journey will take the visitors across America, during which the artist will articulate his impression of the United States by means of Chinese ink painting. The conception of art behind this event is not only an artist's understanding of landscape, but a confluence of two cultures through time and space.
Preface – Zhuang Yujun "Chinese Character" UN Exhibition
Justice – the glory of humanity, the dawn of civilization – has shed light on the history of mankind which is demonstrated by the many rises and falls and vicissitudes along a road paved with survival and struggle.
As a country with a history spanning thousands of years, China has been witness to a succession of dynasties, civil wars and foreign invasions. When we review the past, those who marked their names in this process of blood and glory are the patriots with bravery and justice. Their integrity shown at the critical junction is the symbol of China's national ethos as well as the Chinese character.
Such integrity is what made us Chinese. Hence, no matter how times have changed, we Chinese have survived through the generations.
The year of 2015 is the 70th anniversary of the end of both World War II and the Sino-Japanese War. We commemorate history, so we bear it in mind. We bear history in mind, so we move on. This is the reason that the artist Zhuang Yujun has created a series of large portraits of ancient and modern Chinese heroes. His Chinese ink paintings toll a bell to remind people of one thing: justice.
