China-ROK Film & TV Cultural Industry Forum Held in Chengdu Today

"I finally come to Chengdu," said Li-Kong Hsu, board chairman of Zoom Hunt International Productions Co., Ltd. (Taiwan). He arrived at noon yesterday. Although he is over seventy years old, he looks very energetic. He has been looking forward to this forum. "I have been yearning for a visit to Chengdu. I have written about the historical background and origin of Chengdu. My field of vision will be broadened through having a look at the local customs this time," he said. He delivered a keynote speech to analyze the "new opportunities and challenges in the fields of film & TV talents and technologies of China and ROK" from three aspects of culture, talents and technologies. "Young people are so crazy about South Korean teleplays and films in recent years mainly because the unique food culture, scenic spots, family love and moral principles of ROK have been integrated into the plays in an exquisite way." Likewise, the profound Chinese traditional culture is also suitable for display in film & TV works.
Joo-ick Lee, president of Boram Entertainment Incorporation in ROK also made a keynote speech about the "new opportunities and challenges in the fields of film & TV talents and technologies of China and ROK." He can speak Mandarin Chinese fluently and has had deep relations with Chinese films. He acted as producer of these Chinese films, including Together directed by Chen Kaige, Seven Swords by Hark Tsui and A Battle Of Wits by Jacob Cheung. He was also the producer of Late Autumn starring Tang Wei and Hyun Bin. He expressed his views on how China-ROK films work together towards Hollywood.
Lee told a reporter with Chengdu Business Daily that, "I come to Chengdu for the first time. I am keen on Tang poems and like Li Bai, Su Dongpo, Du Fu and painter Zhang Daqian." He hoped this visit could bring inspiration to his film production. During the forum, Li-Kong Hsu will visit Du Fu Thatched Cottage.

In particular, the first stop of the second series of "Brothers to Run" was recorded in Chengdu, winning high audience ratings.
