CESI will offer compliance and interoperability testing services for ZigBee PRO Compliant Platforms and ZigBee Light Link end products immediately and then scale services to cover other ZigBee specifications and standards. The presence of an authorized test service provider in China will make it easier for ZigBee members in the region to obtain testing services and offer other benefits such as communication in local language and assistance with education on the importance of certification. In addition to its significant role in promoting different standards in the country, CESI also plays a leadership role in China's Internet of Things (IoT) standardization initiatives under the auspices of the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
"CESI is committed to providing the best testing facilities and services for ZigBee members in the Asia-Pacific (Asia-Pac) region," said by Mr. Zhao Bo, President of CESI. "ZigBee is a critical technology enabling the Internet of Things and we are pleased to help regional suppliers deliver ZigBee compliant products and solutions to the burgeoning market."
The ZigBee Certified program ensures that quality products are available to manufacturers and their customers and indeed throughout the value chain. ZigBee has a strong focus on conformance to the standards, and testing by independent agencies such as CESI is crucial in ensuring performance meets expectations as well as interoperability between devices.
"We are delighted to add CESI to our global testing infrastructure," said Tobin J.M. Richardson, Chairman & CEO of the ZigBee Alliance. "The Asia-Pac region is primed for significant growth in the number of ZigBee certified products and CESI's experience and expertise will be a great asset to ZigBee members in Asia-Pac and China in particular."
