China Education International, Inc. Announces A Scholarship Program for CEII Schools.
DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- China Education International, Inc. (OTCBB: CEII) (the "Company"), which manages the operation of private schools and educational activities within China, today announced that it plans to fund an annual scholarship program beginning in 2013.
The scholarship program will enable at least one boy and one girl from each qualifying CEII school for consideration in the program, with a maximum of 10 students from each school. The requirements for each individual scholarship will be announced during January and applications will be accepted during February and March. Scholarship awards will be announced during the month of April.
The scholarships will be awarded through a three stage process. The initial stage is the preliminary submission by local school teachers based on identifying outstanding students whose contribution to their school includes academic excellence and contribution to the community. The second stage is nomination by individual school panels, who will select that school's nominees in each category. The third stage is the final decision by the CEII Scholarship Committee.
Each student competing in the final selection process will be invited to submit a written statement describing his or her reasons for wishing to be considered for a scholarship.
The first year's scholarships are expected to include, among other awards, the opportunity to study in the United States for one half year or during a summer program. Other awards will provide tuition and assistance within the Chinese and CEII educational system.
