Chilicon Power Introduces Next Generation Microinverter
LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Chilicon Power, LLC introduces the CP-220 microinverter system for 60-cell PV modules. In the class of microinverters with architectures that avoid low-reliability electrolytic capacitors, the CP-220 has industry leading CEC weighted efficiency of 94.5% and peak operating efficiencies of 95.5%. Inverter efficiency has been designed to peak at MPP voltages exhibited by PV modules at operating temperature.
The CP-220 microinverter provides revenue grade production measurements. Calibrated sensing provides industry-leading 2% or better accuracy and offers balance of system cost reduction for PV integrators.
The patent-pending microinverter architecture and combined signal processing methods achieve total harmonic distortion figures less than 2% in UL-1741 testing and less than 3% in practical grid-tied scenarios where the local grid voltage exhibits peak voltage clipping.
The communications hub and software architecture allow on-site configuration without sign-off delay from Chilicon Power service personnel. In addition, the CP-220 solves the AC interconnect problem with cabling assemblies that can be sourced from multiple vendors.
Price points are comparable to those of string inverters. For the first time, integrators will be able to provision residential and commercial installations with the value added balance of system and production optimization features provided by microinverters at price points per watt typical of industry leading SMA and Fronius string inverters.
Chilicon Power is engaging with integration and installation partners for an early action program that includes price and service incentives. Attendees of Intersolar North America (July 12-14, 2011) can meet Chilicon Power in West Hall Level 1, booth 7267.
