Chile's VTR Selects ARRIS to Enhance High-Speed Broadband Services
The ARRIS E6000™ Converged Edge Router to provide VTR with new levels of bandwidth and efficiency
SUWANEE, Ga., Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VTR GlobalCom S.A. (VTR) today announced it has chosen ARRIS Group, Inc's (NASDAQ: ARRS) E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) to grow its network and offer enhanced high-speed broadband services.
The E6000 CER also enables VTR concurrently to reduce its operating expenditures with industry-leading rack space, power, and cooling efficiencies, and a 'wire-once' architecture that reduces the need for re-cabling in the data center.
"Chile's consumers are demanding more content, at faster speeds and on more connected devices than ever," said Dale Bassen, chief technology officer, VTR. "The ARRIS E6000 allows us to meet this growing appetite for content, while providing our fastest broadband speeds. ARRIS's CCAP platform also delivers immediate operational savings and the option to scale to future consumer entertainment desires."
"VTR came to us with two goals: attract and retain customers with super-fast broadband speeds, and deliver these services using less rack space and power," said German laryczower, senior vice president Sales, Caribbean and Latin America, ARRIS. "VTR selected our E6000 CER for its ability to achieve both at the same time. Now, they've joined a growing list of global service providers that have made the same choice to realize operational savings today while preparing for the future."
Powering Smarter Networks: The ARRIS E6000 CER
The ARRIS E6000 CER is based on the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) specification that enables operators like VTR to optimize IP content delivery and cost-effectively deploy DOCSIS®, PacketCable™, DSG/ADSG, and PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM™) services. The E6000 CER is the industry's leading CCAP solution, providing service to millions of subscribers worldwide through a high-availability, high-performance solution that supports a fully redundant design.
The ARRIS E6000 will be on display at SCTE 2014, Colorado Convention Center, Booth #1764.
