Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota Welcomes Former Medical Device Executive, Brian Sullivan, to Its Board
MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota today announced that entrepreneur and former Chairman and CEO of SterilMed, Inc., Brian Sullivan, has joined its board of directors. Sullivan has considerable experience running large corporations and helping organizations develop and execute sound business strategies.
"We feel very fortunate to welcome Brian to our board, and look forward to his guidance and insight as we continue to grow to serve the community," said Alan L. Goldbloom, M.D., president and CEO of Children's of Minnesota. "The changing health care landscape is making it more important than ever to operate with clear, sound business strategy. Brian is going be a great help in guiding us forward."
Sullivan said he was well aware of Children's great reputation for care before he was approached about joining the board. Since then he has toured the facilities and has come away even more impressed.
"Providing care to children is one of the more profoundly important roles an organization can play in the community," said Sullivan. "Visiting the hospital and meeting the staff I got to see how committed they are to what they do. It's obvious Children's does a world class job for families."
As CEO of a medical device company, Sullivan gained unique insight into the healthcare industry and the pressures facing hospitals. He said he understands how declining reimbursement rates and government funding cuts have made community support for Children's more important than ever.
