SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- San Antonio relief organization Children's Hunger Fund (CHF) presents its annual Children's Champion Award Celebration Banquet to honor local champion David Robinson.
The event, to be held at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch on Saturday, October 9, 2010 and emceed by popular Pastor/Author Francis Chan, will celebrate "The Admiral" for championing the educational needs of children through The Carver Academy, the school he and his wife founded in 2001.
Local and national figures have put their names behind the event including Red McCombs, Pastor Max Lucado, Pastor Robert Emmitt, Len Harral, Morris Camp, Neal Leonard, Kirk Cameron, Candace Cameron Bure, and Jim Daly.
The Children's Champion Award recognizes those who use their positions of influence in government, business, public life, and charity to ensure that children – children they may never meet – would receive hope against the odds.

"Resonate," the banquet's theme, promises to ring true to guests throughout the night. A giant set of chimes will illustrate to guests what their support can do for children in need. "We want our guests to understand their true impact," said Dave Phillips, CHF President. "We want them to see how their support will cause a reverberation that can impact generations of children with food, care and the love of God."

Other sponsors include Community Bible Church, Hollywood Against Hunger, McCombs Foundation, Prologis, Oak Hills Church, Summit Christian Center, Len & Jennifer Harral, Zachry Corporation, and Friends of CHF.
