Chief Automotive Technologies to Unveil New Fusion Product Line at Automechanika Chicago
Welders and more join Chief frame racks, computerized measuring, and data
MADISON, Ind., March 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chief Automotive Technologies will introduce a significant expansion of its product line at Automechanika Chicago. In addition to the frame racks, computerized measuring systems, vehicle anchoring and specification data that collision repair shops rely on every day, Chief will introduce a new line of fusion equipment, including spot welders, MIG/MAG welders and other shop equipment to be unveiled at the show.

Automechanika Chicago takes place April 24-26, 2015 at McCormick Place West. Chief is in booth #1402.

Ken Boylan, global training manager for Chief, presents "Steel vs. Aluminum: Fact and Fiction" on Friday, April 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., and Saturday, April 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. This course, which includes curriculum from the new Chief University "Aluminum Damage Analysis and Repair Technology" class, covers the characteristics of both aluminum and steel and how the differences between the two metals can affect a quality repair. Boylan will discuss repair techniques and evolving joining technologies, including friction, stir, laser, hydrosonic welding and other technologies that impact decisions on whether a component is repaired or replaced.
