Chicago Tribune Presents a Community Conversation
Improving Safety for Chicago Public Schools Students
CHICAGO, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago Tribune is hosting a Community Conversation, titled "Safe Passage: Solutions," from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25 at DuSable Museum of African American History. In collaboration with the DuSable Museum and WVON 1690 AM, six panelists will discuss improving safety for Chicago Public Schools students. All members of the Chicago community are invited to join this discussion.
A panel of experts will be moderated by WVON 1690's Cliff Kelley. The panelists include: Ron Huberman, Chicago Public Schools CEO; Dr. Jens Ludwig, Director Of University of Chicago Crime Lab; Andres Rojas, Brighton Park Neighborhood Council; Tio Hardiman, Director of CeaseFire Illinois; Asia Black, Mikva Challenge student member; and Deborah Shelton, Chicago Tribune reporter.
Beginning last fall in a series of stories labeled "Seeking Safe Passage,'' Chicago Tribune has reported on youth violence, examining its complex causes and exploring possible solutions.
