Chicago Tribune Expands Distribution of Chicago Sun-Times
CHICAGO, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago Tribune Media Group (CTMG) announced today that it will begin distributing copies of the Chicago Sun-Times to newsstands, retail locations and vending newsracks in the city of Chicago. Chicago Tribune drivers will distribute the Sun-Times daily seven days a week, including the early Sunday edition that is delivered on Saturday.
This seven year agreement is an addendum to CTMG's current distribution agreement with Sun-Times. Currently, the Chicago Tribune delivers all home delivered copies of the Chicago Sun-Times and most affiliated suburban newspapers, and newsstand copies outside the city of Chicago.
"This deal is part of our successful efforts to expand our business services revenue by capitalizing on our strong distribution infrastructure," said Becky Brubaker, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Distribution. "We have unparalleled distribution capabilities giving us the ability to deliver to any and all households in the eight-county designated market area, every day. And we provide exceptional service to our distribution clients."
The agreement will begin on October 18, 2010.
Currently, the Chicago Tribune holds local distribution agreements with more than 87 publications, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Investor Business Daily, and USA Today.
