Chicago Magazine's Summer Hot List
112 adventures for every kind of Chicagoan
CHICAGO, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- A long and exhilarating summer lies ahead and the experts at Chicago magazine have scoured the city and suburbs in search of the season's hottest happenings. From well-known attractions to hidden gems, the June issue of Chicago, which hits newsstands Thursday, features an insider's guide to the city's summer hot spots, highlighting 112 adventures for every kind of Chicagoan.
Unlike other summer guides, Chicago's list puts Chicagoans in control, letting them choose between six different escapes: a sporty expedition, a foodie itinerary, or a kid-friendly undertaking, just to name a few.
"Chicago knows how to entertain visitors and locals alike in the summer," says Richard Babcock, editor of Chicago. "Whether you are riding the aero balloon with the kids at Navy Pier, taking in a premiere by one of Chicago's hot, young dramatists, catching pan fish for dinner, or going on the Ask-a-Scientist Guided Tour at the Fermilab, there is something for everyone to explore. No matter what your interest is, you'll find the best adventures in this month's issue."
The June issue also features Mighty Mouth, an in-depth profile of Rod Blagojevich's defense attorney Sam Adam Jr. Adam doesn't merely argue cases—he performs, typically closing with an eruption of righteous indignation, and his clients often walk free. Now Adam is set to strut and fret upon the brightly lit stage of the former governor's corruption trial—but will his antics work in the federal courtroom?
Elsewhere in the June issue of Chicago:
• Culture: The magazine's 40th anniversary celebration continues with a list of the top 40 Chicago movies of all time.
• Food: By now, farmers' markets in every corner of Chicago are brimming with the season's freshest offerings. Meet six dedicated land lovers who make summer delicious.
