Chicago Inno Taps Chicago's Business Elite for Inaugural State of Innovation Forum
Community-driven news media and events company welcomes UChicago Entrepreneur-in-Residence Mark Tebbe and industry leaders at landmark event
CHICAGO, April 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago Inno announced the official lineup of Chicago's inaugural State of Innovation Forum (#CHISOI), scheduled for April 23, 2015 at 1871. The event celebrates Chicago's evolving startup and business communities by bringing together the most influential thought leaders from the area's fastest growing sectors to evaluate the key issues and trends facing the city's innovation economy.
"What impresses me most while covering Chicago's tech scene is the pace of the city's innovation economy," said Will Flanagan, General Manager of Chicago Inno. "State of Innovation puts the city's leaders across industries in the spotlight to discuss how we can continue that growth as a community."
The forum evaluates the four key components of an innovation ecosystem – startups, supporters, capital and education. Mark Tebbe, serial entrepreneur and UChicago Polsky Center's Entrepreneur-in-Residence, will deliver the evening's keynote address, followed by The Startup Ecosystem and Innovation 500 panels examining what's working and what's next for Chicago's economy.
Joining Tebbe, CHISOI panelists include: Joe Dwyer, Professor of Entrepreneurship at Kellogg and Partner at Founder Equity; Shradha Agarwal, co-Founder and President of ContextMedia; Mike Boush, Head of Digital at Discover Financial Services; Rumi Morales, Executive Director at CME Group, and more. Among the city's acclaimed entrepreneurs, Tebbe founded Lante Corporation, a tech consulting firm that helped launch over 250 new businesses, and co-founded Answers.com, one of the Web's leading Q&A publishers. In addition to his UChicago EIR and civic involvement, Tebbe is currently an Operating Executive at Lake Capital, a $1.3 billion fund that specializes in marketing and technology services.
