Chicago House Kicks off Pride Celebration With Art Auction and Cocktails at Room & Board
Unique birdhouses and artwork designed by local artists to be auctioned to benefit families living with HIV/AIDS
CHICAGO, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Chicago House's 25th Anniversary Pride weekend celebration begins this year with an annual art auction and cocktail party to benefit families affected by AIDS, at Room & Board's downtown Chicago store on Thursday, June 23rd. Local Chicago artists, designers and architects will participate in this unique event, an annual tradition for art enthusiasts and Chicago House supporters.
Contemporary art, including one-of-a-kind birdhouses, and retail gift baskets from The Shops at North Bridge will all be auctioned off. Bidders can get a sneak peek this year, with artwork on display in the Room & Board showroom starting on June 18th.
Celebrating its 25th year, Chicago House provides permanent housing and supportive services to men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS, and has since grown to include case management, prevention and awareness training, and employment placement.
The art auction and cocktail party will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 23, 2011 at the Room & Board store, 55 East Ohio Street in downtown Chicago. Tickets are $70 in advance and $85 at the door, and include delicious eats from J&L Catering, desserts from Sweet Miss Giving's Bakery and cocktails by Grey Goose.
