Chicago Attorney A. Martinez Saves Boy, Reuniting Him with Dad
CHICAGO, Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Family law attorney Alexandra Martinez will discuss a recent victory reuniting an 8-year-old boy with his father in the Chicago area after the mother removed the child to Mexico without the father's permission. Martinez will appear on the Sept. 16th live broadcast of Chicago Counterpoint TV. Fathers' rights attorney and advocate Jeffery M. Leving will host the show at 7:30 p.m. (CDT)
In the case, the father had established paternity in Illinois, but the mother took the child out of the country for several months without his permission, according to court documents. She returned the boy to his dad, but removed him again with the alleged intention of returning to Mexico with him.
Martinez took control, securing an Emergency Order for Possession of the child and a Temporary Restraining Order barring the mother from taking him from Illinois.
"The child is now safe with dad and enrolled in school,'' Martinez said.
It's the latest example of the tenacity Martinez brings to winning life-changing cases. Earlier this year, she saved a client from having to pay more than $200,000 for a child who was not his.
Chicago Counterpoint TV is broadcast on Channel 21 in Chicago and provides positive role models for fathers, as well as essential legal education to unwed dads, men in divorce and Chicago divorce lawyers seeking to expand their professional knowledge.
