Chet Czarniak Named Executive Editor, Content Distribution and Programming for USA TODAY
MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- USA TODAY announced Chet Czarniak, formerly network managing editor of USA TODAY, has been named executive editor, content distribution and programming. Czarniak will be responsible for content distribution and programming for USA TODAY's print, online and mobile news and information platforms.
"Chet's experience at USA TODAY in both the print and online newsrooms make him an excellent choice for this new position. His new role will ensure that content will flow efficiently from the newsroom to all of our platforms," said John Hillkirk, editor of USA TODAY.
Czarniak joined USA TODAY in 1983 as a reporter in the Sports section of the newspaper. He later held positions as assignment editor and special projects editor. He moved to USATODAY.com as sports editor in 1999. He was named online managing editor in 2000 and oversaw the day-to-day operation and staff of the website before and during the merger with the print newsroom. He was named network managing editor in 2008.
Prior to joining USA TODAY, Czarniak held positions at Gannett News Service and the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum, Penn. He is a graduate of Duquesne University where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism.
