Chesapeake Midstream Partners' Stice Named Keynote Speaker for Hart Energy's 3rd Annual Marcellus Midstream Conference & Exhibition
Largest Midstream Event Adds Safety Conference
HOUSTON, Feb. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- J. Mike Stice, chief executive officer, Chesapeake Midstream Partners, will deliver the opening keynote address at Hart Energy's 3rd Annual Marcellus Midstream Conference and Exhibition, March 19-21, 2012, in Pittsburgh.
"We are excited to expand our footprint into the Marcellus Shale, further increasing our basin diversification and, more importantly, exposing us to the increased drilling activity in the liquid-rich regions in the Marcellus South," Stice said.
The annual midstream conference reviews infrastructure demand driven by Appalachian gas and gas-liquids production from the Marcellus, Huron, Upper Devonian and other formations — and now possibly oil, as Ohio's Utica comes online.
The event focuses on opportunities surrounding the midstream infrastructure needed to handle newfound production from shale reservoirs. As capital is becoming easier to obtain, and operators are exploring their options in shale-gas recovery, this conference is designed to highlight the latest industry plans and projections. Last year, more than 1,400 attendees registered, making this the largest Marcellus networking event of the year.
Additionally, a March 19 safety workshop has been added to conference. Operators and technical experts will provide insights into means to further improve the industry's safety performance. As shippers make arrangements for distributing products to refiners and end-users across North America and abroad, their companies as well as the operators surfacing these hydrocarbons and their well-site drilling and fracture-stimulation partners are meeting and exceeding best safety practices across the region.
