HOUSTON, Jan. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Chesapeake Energy and BP executives will take the stage for the keynote presentations at the inaugural DUG Haynesville conference and exhibition, February 26 in Shreveport, LA. Hundreds of oil and gas professionals will gather at the Shreveport Convention Center to hear the latest on Haynesville production from companies like Castleton Resources, Tellurian Inc., Goodrich Petroleum and more.
A new stop in the renowned DUG conference and exhibition tour, DUG Haynesville (Feb 20-21 in Shreveport) brings the unmatched "DUG experience" to a new city as operational advances coupled with surging natural gas exports renew interest in the Haynesville shale. Themed "Classic Rock", the all-new DUG Haynesville will spotlight the best of the "old rock" in a region holding an estimated 304 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
"The Haynesville is entering the activity limelight as production picks up in a region loaded with natural gas," said Leslie Haines, conference host and executive editor-at-large for Oil and Gas Investor. "The presentations at the inaugural DUG Haynesville conference will give insights to recent drilling successes and forward-looking strategies in a region back on many producers' radar."
Chesapeake's Vice President, Tim Beard, will deliver a morning keynote presentation highlighting the company's successes testing 5,000 pounds of proppant per lateral foot. This method has resulted in huge wells and a new streak of activity for a company that championed early successes in the Haynesville.
Following the Networking Luncheon, BP's Senior Vice President Doug Johnson will present the company's portfolio and plans for the Haynesville's gas-rich rock. As one of the largest U.S. gas producers, BP has grown its presence in the Haynesville and Bossier over the past two years.
