Country's Fastest Growing Barbecue Chain Expands in North Carolina
CHERRYVILLE, N.C., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country, continues to grow as the plans commence to bring the restaurant to Cherryville.
"Of course, I love the food at Dickey's Barbecue and then all the people who we have talked to and met within the Dickey's organization have always treated us with kindness, patience and understanding," said the new owner/operator Barbara Dobson.
After working at a local bank for 26 years, Barbara looks forward to beginning this new chapter in her life with Dickey's Barbecue Pit.
"My husband and I were researching different types of franchises when we came across Dickey's Barbecue. After our research of what Dickey's has to offer we decided that Dickey's was the right franchise for our family," said Mrs. Dobson, who will own and operate this initial Cherryville location.
Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened in 1941 and began franchising in 1994. Dickey's Barbecue Pit is well-known for its pit-smoked signature meats, complimentary ice cream and the big yellow cups.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit will serve up 9 different hickory-smoked meats that are slow cooked every night, along with a vast array of home-style sides to the Cherryville area.
Since early 2011, Dickey's has opened 12 stores nationwide and 70 are set to open before the end of 2011.
The preparation prior to opening a Dickey's franchise is extensive, ensuring that owner/operators are thoroughly prepared to hit the ground running.

The original Dallas location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.
There are 147 locations in 33 states, with six locations in North Carolina.
