HOUSTON, May 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday, PCCA announced that Cheri Kraemer, RPh, owner of Pharmacy Specialties, Inc. of Sioux Falls, is the winner of the 2014 Evelyn Timmons Advocacy Award. The award pays tribute to Timmons, a pioneer in the compounding industry, by honoring a passionate, committed, and tenacious female compounding pharmacist who is advancing the compounding pharmacy industry in her community and as a profession.
"We are proud to announce that Cheri Kraemer is the winner of the prestigious 2014 Evelyn Timmons Advocacy Award," said Jim Smith, President of PCCA. "Cheri is fiercely passionate about providing customized medicines to patients who depend on it and her work as a champion for compounding plays a critical role in contributing to a healthier Sioux Falls."
Kraemer has been a compounding pharmacist for the past 29 years, and founded her compounding pharmacy, Pharmacy Specialties, Inc., with the primary goal of advancing the health and well-being of her patients. She has also served on PCCA's Advisory Council and frequently attends educational seminars and symposiums to bring back new ideas to her co-workers and patients.
"Receiving the Evelyn Timmons award is the highest honor and means everything to me," said Kraemer. "There is so much value in the compounding industry. Compounding offers us an excellent opportunity to practice medicine on a personal level, caring for the person and not just the symptoms or disease."
Kraemer also says that her continuing education efforts allow her to address each patient's specific condition and devise a treatment plan specifically tailored to meet his or her needs.
"I continue working daily to protect and promote an industry that offers the best opportunity for patients to be treated in the manner best suited for their own conditions," said Kraemer.
