MIAMI, July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ChenMed, the nation's leading integrated primary care practice for seniors, today announced a series of strategic executive leadership team additions to keep fueling the double-digit membership growth the innovative company has annually achieved since 2011.
"At-risk seniors and every Medicare Advantage health plan in America now have extra reasons to establish relationships with our rapidly growing medical practice," says Christopher Chen, MD, ChenMed Chief Executive Officer. "Dr. Jeffrey Kang joined ChenMed as President eight months ago, leveraging 30 years of extraordinary healthcare industry experience to accelerate our progress in transforming healthcare for some of the neediest populations. Now, with Jeff's help, we've scored additional game-changing talent for our growing executive team."
The most recent executive team find is Jason Barker, MHA, CPA who just joined Chen Senior Medical Center as Market President. "Our South Florida primary care physicians and specialist doctors do an absolutely amazing job –particularly for older adults living with multiple major and chronic conditions," explains Dr. Kang, former SVP at Walgreens and former Chief Medical Officer at CMS and CIGNA. "We know quality healthcare must be delivered locally; that exceptional care teams need a resourceful champion to achieve market dominance.
"Jason brings extensive professional experience, as well as a portfolio of previous achievements from prior healthcare executive leadership roles in a variety of settings and diverse operating environments. His collaborative approach, with physicians and healthcare leaders alike, has led to increased quality outcomes and satisfaction rates for patients, as well as improved market share and financial performance."
Well prepared for the highly competitive Florida market serving 4.0 million Medicare members, Barker will develop business growth opportunities; and nurture key relationships to help the multi-center practice achieve market dominance by delivering affordable care and superior service. Prior to joining ChenMed, Barker served as CEO of Prospect Medical Systems, a multi-state full-risk managed care organization based in Orange, California. Immediately prior, he was President of CareMore Health plans, a nationally recognized Medicare Advantage plan specializing in health management for frail elderly.
"My goal is to empower South Florida medical, operational, network and membership development teams to collaboratively drive growth -- while staying focused on delivering better health outcomes with unrivaled service to patients and partners," says Barker. "And, by stressing love and accountability, we'll keep making market inroads."
Since ChenMed operates 37 dedicated medical centers in six states (Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Virginia), while simultaneously providing operational support and risk focused end-to-end technologies to help more than 200 independent medical practices deliver superior outcomes for seniors with Medicare Advantage, the company also recently bolstered center of excellence expertise vital to further igniting membership growth.
Marke Dickinson, MBA, MPP now serves as ChenMed Chief Marketing Officer, and Juan Carlos Sanchez is Managing Director of Service Transformation.
"Our strongly collaborative medical and operational market leaders need expert counsel and industry leading support to achieve growth in fiercely competitive markets.
