Cheetah Mobile Releases New Patent-Pending Device Cooling Technology In Updated Clean Master App
Clean Master app can now cool phones protecting both devices and users
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheetah Mobile Inc. (NYSE: CMCM) announces today the release of an updated version of the Clean Master app featuring a new Device Cooler function. The new app version is now available on Google Play for new download or as an update for the more than 200 million people worldwide who have the Clean Master app.
Clean Master is the world's most downloaded Android cleaner that helps users reclaim storage, boost memory and enhance speed while protecting against viruses and vulnerabilities. With the app update, Clean Master now includes a new cooling technology, adding a Device Cooler function to its latest version. The Device Cooler offers overheating protection with a patent-pending CPU checking mechanism.
Clean Master Device Cooler uses a special CPU usage checking strategy to periodically checks each running apps CPU consumption. If an app is using above-normal amounts of CPU a user can click "fix" and the Clean Master app will terminate CPU usage for the abnormal app and release the occupied CPU back into the Android system. This helps cool the device as high CPU usage is a main cause for phone overheating. Additionally the new feature will show real-time phone temperature and monitor for app developer updates that can correct an apps CPU issue, alerting users when a new version of an app is available.
The Device Cooler was developed by Cheetah Mobile after the company discovered that when clearing memory from phones, many apps were occupying unnecessary high amounts of the CPU. From years of analysis, Clean Master has determined how much CPU consumption for individual apps is "normal" and knows when an app is using too much CPU power. Monitoring and adjusting CPU usage is important for every device as high usage can cause some devices to overheat, slows performance and drains the battery.
With the addition of the Device Cooler, Clean Master offers a full suite of phone protecting features including:
- JUNK FILE CLEANING: Delete cache and residual files to reclaim memory, boost speed and improve the performance of your device and SD card.
- MEMORY BOOST: Boost your games and apps, free up memory (RAM) and speed up your device. Our 1 Tap Boost and Game Boost features make it easy to optimize directly from your home screen.
- ANTIVIRUS: Scan the system, pre-installed and user-installed apps to keep your device safe from viruses, Trojans, vulnerabilities, adware and spyware. Keep your privacy safe by scrubbing personal info from your device.
