As a part of Hunger Action Month™, the Spoontember campaign encourages people to balance a spoon on their nose, take a "spoon selfie" photo, and challenge friends to do the same via social media.
Cheeky's Chief Culinary Ambassador Mario Batali has helped kick off the campaign challenging his friends to take a "spoon selfie." For every Twitter and Instagram post tagged with #Spoontember, @FeedingAmerica, and @Cheeky_Home, Cheeky will donate a meal* through Feeding America.
Feeding America, the nation's leading hunger-relief organization, created Hunger Action Month to raise awareness of hunger in the United States. Today, more than 49 million people in America face hunger. Spoontember calls upon the nation to rally behind the spoon and spread awareness.
Cheeky, a lifestyle brand known for on-trend paper plates, produced the official orange cutlery for Spoontember. The disposable cutlery is available for a limited time at Target® stores nationwide and Target.com. For every purchase of Cheeky products, Cheeky donates a meal* to someone in need. Cheeky has also generously donated cutlery to 180 food banks to support Spoontember initiatives across the country.
"We are grateful for Cheeky's enthusiastic support, both in helping to provide meals for families and orange spoons for our food banks," says Nancy Curby, Vice President of corporate partnerships at Feeding America. "They're helping us bring Spoontember to life and the conversation of food insecurity to the table."
"Since Cheeky's launch just ten months ago, we have helped to provide nearly 4 million meals to Feeding America," says Cheeky Founder, P.J. Brice. "Spoontember is a brilliant way to get involved. Take a spoon selfie to support Feeding America!"
