STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR) today announced it has appointed three government relations veterans to join the company in Government Affairs leadership roles.
Adam Falk has been named Senior Vice President, Government Affairs with responsibility for achieving the Company's legislative and regulatory goals at the local and state level and will manage Charter's local and state government affairs team; Waldo McMillan has been named Vice President, Government Affairs and will oversee Charter's Federal Legislative efforts working closely with Paul Cancienne who shares the same title; and Tamara Lipper Smith has been named Vice President, Government Affairs and will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies for the communication of Charter's policy positions. All three executives will report to Catherine Bohigian, Executive Vice President of Government Affairs.

Adam Falk most recently served as Vice President for Government Affairs at Cablevision Systems Corporation in Bethpage, New York. He was responsible for coordinating the company's government relations and legislative and regulatory affairs functions across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut – the three states where Cablevision operates and serves almost 3 million customers. Mr. Falk has more than 16 years of experience in the cable industry and a cumulative career spanning almost 25 years in government and government affairs.
Mr. Falk graduated from Boston University School of Law in 1990, and earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Political Science from Union College, in Schenectady, New York in 1987. He has served as Chairman of the New Jersey Cable Telecommunications Association and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Cable Telecommunications Association of New York and the New England Cable and Telecommunications Association. He lives in Long Island with his wife and three children and will be relocating to the DC area.
Waldo McMillan most recently served as Founder and Managing Director of Capstone Counsel Group, a federal government relations firm based in Washington, DC. Prior to founding his firm, Mr. McMillan was a Counsel in the Public Policy and Government Affairs practice group at Bryan Cave LLP, and before that he served as Vice President for Public Policy and General Counsel at the broadband technology nonprofit One Economy Corporation. Mr. McMillan began his career as a Counsel in the office of U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.
Mr. McMillan is a graduate of Howard University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He resides in Maryland with his wife and three children.
Tamara Lipper Smith most recently served as a Special Advisor in the FCC's Office of Strategic Policy and Planning, where she was responsible for communicating key agency initiatives, directing outreach, media relations and communications strategy for the Incentive Auction Task Force. Upon her arrival at the agency in 2006, Tamara served as the chief spokeswoman and communications adviser for the agency's Chairman. Prior to that, she reported on national politics as the White House Correspondent and National Correspondent for Newsweek Magazine.
Ms. Smith received her B.A. from Harvard University. She resides in Virginia with her husband and two children.
