Chart Topper--Harlem Globetrotter Thunder Law Shatters Guinness World Records® Record for Farthest Basketball Shot Made Backwards
New mark of 82 feet 2 inches bests old mark by 10 feet and is Globetrotters star's second world record in as many years
PHOENIX, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Known the world over for amazing feats of basketball, the Harlem Globetrotters have once again set the standard, as Globetrotters' star Thunder Law smashed the official Guinness World Records® record for the farthest basketball shot made backwards – 82 feet 2 inches – topping the old mark of 72 feet 2 inches, set over three years ago, by exactly 10 feet.
Thunder broke the record at US Airways Center in Phoenix, home of the Phoenix Suns, in celebration of the tenth annual Guinness World Records Day. It was the second record Thunder has demolished on Guinness World Records Day – in November 2013, he broke the mark for the longest basketball shot, connecting from 109 feet 9 inches.

"It was incredible to have the opportunity to break a record last year, and this year, it was just as extraordinary," said Thunder. "The Globetrotters are known worldwide for amazing feats of basketball, and you can see some of the best athletes on the planet bring it night in and night out on our upcoming tour."
