"Charlotte is the second-largest financial center in the country, and also home to energy, healthcare, higher education, and entertainment businesses. There is significant demand in Charlotte and elsewhere for compliance professionals. We at Charlotte School of Law are excited by the opportunity to provide 21st Century practical training to the Queen City's workforce, and to contribute to the continued growth of its businesses."
The Center for Compliance and Ethics was created through a collaboration between the Charlotte School of Law and Michael Volkov, a leading lawyer and compliance expert who is the CEO and owner of The Volkov Law Group, LLC. Mr. Volkov will take an active role in advising on curriculum and strategy for the Center, and will provide expertise through blog posting, webinars, and symposium content.
"We are excited about the opportunity to join CharlotteLaw in this new venture," said Mike Volkov. "The Center will bring together leading experts in the field, advance the compliance profession and build new strategies and techniques to promote ethics and compliance practices. This is important for the profession as a whole. The Center and its curriculum help the profession work toward this goal by establishing baseline expectations and focusing academic efforts toward addressing key issues."
